31

Next week I will be 31. I don't think it has quite hit me yet but several of my girlfriends have mentioned that turning 31 was a lot harder then turning 30. I'm not looking forward to turning 31 at all and this bit of info has me feeling a bit anxious. There is so much that I have not yet accomplished and most likely most will remain unaccomplished for a while. Ugh.

Well, on a happier note, I finally got to meet Jacob. He is my friend Allison's little boy. He's such a little flirt at four months old! Hahaha! He's going to have a lot of girlfriends, I think.

I survived

Well, I survived the meeting of my ex's parents and my ex. It's not that I didn't want to see them, it was their son that I was hesitant about. I hadn't seen him in a while....ok, pretty much since the break up which was like 3 years ago? And since I've put on weight, I really did not want to see him. I wanted him to see the skinnier, sexier version of me. Hahahaha! Who am I kidding? But I knew in the back of mind, that I should go and try and meet up with them. I didn't want to seem rude. Anyhow, we met Sunday night (Nov. 27th) and had a nice dinner at Elephant Bar. Then I took them to see Xmas lights in Fremont and gave them a mini tour of my city in the dark. Not really sure what else to do with them that night but I guess they enjoyed it. I didn't realize how happy I made them by seeing them that night. I guess I was the highlight of their trip so in that sense, I was glad to see them. But I will admit, it was a bit hard especially since we're no longer together. I guess that part never really goes away?

Will I ever....?

It seems like the question I've been asking myself a lot these days. Such as "Will I ever find my prince and get married? Will I ever have the chance to have kids? Will I ever be able to buy my own place in this crazy real estate area that I call home?" Not sure why I'm having all of these "Will I ever" thoughts... probably cuz my younger brother, Frank, recently got married a few weeks ago and with no fail, the question, "So Jean, when are you getting married? Do you have a boyfriend?" I guess it didn't help that I caught the darn bouquet (Check out my face! I look terrible! But it did make my mom very happy!)...well, sorta, it fell by my feet... hey, how come no one else made a run for it? Anyhow, it's the second bouquet I've caught (sorry, mom!)....the first one was at my ex's friend's wedding. We were still together at the time and a similar thing happened...it landed near my feet with my ex yelling "No, Jean! Don't catch it!" Much to his dismay, I "touched it" so that meant I caught it. Hmmm...so does this mean, I have to catch a third bouquet in order for me to get married? I hope not! So as I ponder some more about my life, go check out the rest of the pictures of my brother and sister in law's wedding at http://www.frankandcarolshen.com Enjoy!

Why do people steal?

I am truly disgusted. I just heard that 2 projects were stolen today at the scrapbook store. There was a Holiday open house for the customers where employees and teachers had made cards, layouts and a few projects for inspiration. One of the projects stolen is actually a class that is to be taught later on this month. I feel really bad for the teacher because not only does she teach, she also help run the store on Sundays. So to have her own project disappear while working must have been very frustrating. The same thing happened to her last month where another teacher's class project was taken during a similar event. Obviously whoever took these projects seem to lack their own creativity or something. But to just take someone else's project? Don't they realize they can make the same thing if they take the class? I wonder what was going through this person's head when she decided to take these items... I wonder what she wants with them... for her personal use or maybe they will end up on eBay? I just hope she comes to her senses and returns them but that's highly doubtful since she still hasn't returned the one from last month. Doesn't she realize that these teachers put in a lot of work into these projects and for some, this is their way of making a little income?

First blog

My first blog and I have no idea what to say. I'm not even sure why I set one up. Anyhow, I can't believe it's November already. Time seems to really fly as an adult... how come it didn't seem this way as a kid? I remember as a kid, Christmas seem to take forever to come. Now, it just keeps sneaking up on me! The year is just flying by and I feel like I'm a year behind.... like I'm stuck but everything around me is just going and going and going!
