18 more days..
before I turn 32....eeek! Another year older.... does it mean I'm wiser? Probably not. At least I don't feel any wiser or even prepared for 32. I feel unaccomplished... so many goals unaccomplished. Three of my cousins are having babies next year... one of them is due New Year's Day but I think Grandma said it was due December. Watch it be born on the same days as mom and I. If it arrives on New Year's Day, that would be a bigger surprise. It would also be kinda cool too... Too bad my cousin hasn't really kept in touch. Last I heard she's in the Washington area. Her husband is plastic surgeon (not for cosmetic purposes) and I think he's finishing his residency there. She's a regular MD... and I think she finished her residency prior to the wedding. Anyhow, I hope to hear some news and wish her and baby well.
So anybody wake up at some insane hour to go Xmas shopping on Black Friday? Not I! Thought about it for a minute and decided that it wasn't worth it. I was thinking about going to Target to pick up a Doodle Bear for Emilie since she asked for that and make up (yes, she's only 4! and I haven't quite decided on getting her any yet). Anyhow, I did make to Target at 8:50, found parking right away, found $4 dvds and picked a pink doodle bear that glows in the dark (Target exclusive...have no idea what the difference is between this one and the Costco one except I remember the Costco one being $17 something... hmmm...), didn't even have to really stand in line and got out of there in like half an hour. Then sat in the parking lot talking to a friend for like another half hour because I couldn't decide whether to go to Michael's or not (which I ended up not). Ended up going home instead and then meeting my friends later to go to a scrapbook store. Anyhow, no more shopping for me for a while. I picked up my birthday/Xmas present to myself and it's rather expensive...

One step forwards, 2 steps back
That is the story of my life. Last month a real estate friend of mine was able to take me to go see three townhouses in this gated community that I've been wanting to check out for the longest time. Out of the three, I fell in love with one of them. The third one had the most awesome mural of an Italian countryside painted from entrance all the way up to the living room/kitchen area. Now even though I thought the mural was awesome, I didn't fall in love with this place...one being the owner living there had all the shutters shut tight so it looked kind of dark and gloomy (so first impression didn't go well) but mainly because it was the most expensive out of three even though all three have the same floorplan. Anyhow, the price range of these townhouses are still a bit on the high end for me but I have to say, it's more do-able then last year. So the slight drop in price made me a bit happy that I actually set up an appointment with a lender from my credit union. I've met with him to discuss what I would need to do. I was suppose to meet up with him a second time but that didn't happen and since then everything has been at a stand still. My lender thought that if my parents co-signed, I would have a better chance of getting a better loan. At first it seemed as if my parents agreed to it but now I seemed to get this sense of indecisiveness on my mom's part. It's a bit frustrating because she isn't clear about what she wants to do. First she says she wants to help and the next, it's like she's second guessing everything. I realize she's not a risk taker...she never was...she was always apprehensive and very undecisive that's she's missed several opportunities but she is really making me pull my hair out with this. So as frustrated as I am, I think I'm just going to go forwards on my own, without her help. Probably better this way in the long run anyhow. Besides, I checked on line and it appears the place I fell in love with is off the market. So I guess there's no point in even filling out a pre-approval...
